Michaels? Oh yes, Michaels has a sale, and they were kind enough to send me a coupon. My favorite jewelry store? They sent me a “gift card.” $225. Sounds generous until you realize nothing on their site is less than $1,000. Basically, it’s a fancy reminder that I’m still broke, but now broke with options.
Then the late-night logic kicks in: maybe I just need a new hobby. Something soothing. Something inspiring. Something to go with the other dozen abandoned hobbies sitting lonely and unopened in my basement, like tiny monuments to my overconfidence.
So, what does one do at this crossroads? Do I buy beads I’ll never string? Knitting needles I’ll never use? Cake pans for cakes I’ll never bake? Or do I finally face the truth: maybe what I really need is a hobby called “going to bed at a reasonable hour.”
Spoiler alert: I’ll probably just keep scrolling.
If you need me, I’ll be adding $3,000 worth of craft supplies to my cart… and buying none of it.
